FVN - Fraser Valley News Sports and Entertainment is an on line newspaper in blog form. It was created in April 2015 as a result of the founding Managing Editor and News Director Don Lehn. After 35 years in Canadian media, primarily radio, Lehn, along with partner Ann Soutar-Britton and Myriad Information Technology Solutions set up the basics for a three pronged on line media service in Chilliwack BC. FVN's mandate is to serve the 300,000 people who live in the Fraser Valley, just outside of Vancouver BC, and reflect news sports, entertainment and lifestyle information.
〔fraservalleynewsnetwork.com〕 FVN is strictly on line with copy, audio and video along with social media links to bring the voice of the Fraser Valley to Vancouver, Canada and the rest of the world. Lehn had previously worked as an announcer, news/sports reporter, writer, commercial voice and as an actor. Lehn's resume includes graduating from the BCIT radio program in Burnaby BC in 1979. He started at CKGF Grand Forks BC followed by CJVI Victoria (1979–1983), CHNL Kamloops BC (1983–1985), CIZL Z99 Regina (1985–1987), CFFR 66CFR Calgary 1987-1991, CFGO/CJMJ FM - Energy 1200/Majic 100 Ottawa (1991-1995).
A return to BC followed with CKMA/CHWK AM Abbotsford/Chilliwack BC(Radio Max)(1996–98) CKZZ/CISL (Z05/650CISL - 1997, 1999–2000)Vancouver.
Lehn took a break from commercial radio to teach night school at his Alma matter BCIT and day radio program at Columbia Academy (Vancouver 2000-2001). While trying to maintain a acting career, that really didn't take off, Lehn was heard nationally on Voiceprint Canada (now known as AMI), a news service that reads newspapers and magazines for the blind and visually impaired.
In 2005-2006 Lehn was involved with fundraising for Canadian Red Cross/Donor Direct.
In 2006, Lehn returned to radio with CKWX AM/CKLG FM/CKCL FM - News1130/Jack FM/Clear FM Vancouver.
Lehn would relaunch Clear FM as the News Anchor with Fred Latrimoille and Cathy Baldazzi. He would move into Mid Day Anchor with News1130 rotating with Andy Walsh and the late Brian Brenn. Lehn would be heard occasionally with Larry and Willy on Jack FM Mornings as News Anchor (as a back up to Kerry Marshall).
After owners Rogers Communications rolled through massive downsizing due to the 2008 market crash (Layoffs occurred 2008-2010) , Lehn returned to the Fraser Valley to become the Morning News Anchor and News Director of CHWK FM (2010-2014 at 89.5 The Drive/Hawk/MyChilliwackNews.com) Owners Fabmar Communications shut down their News and Sports Departments and Lehn then had the nuts and bolts to piece together what would become FVN Fraser Valley News Sports and Entertainment in the Spring of 2015.
